Muddick “Country Loud” Album Review

Local Michigan duo Muddick (Marcus Mayhew, and Earl Kidd)  released their first EP “Country Loud” On Monday, September, 25, 2017. While I’m not sure how this band came to be, I can tell you that Marcus Mayhew has been an up and coming solo artist for a few years now. Back in January, 2015 he released his very first solo single “the One.” From then on, I guess this project started where he decided to give Country a try, and though I was stunned it’s working for him. Lets break down this EP shall we. This is only a four track EP with the first single being “Summertime Livin.” I saw this official music video and was impressed by concept and hearing Mayhew on lead vocals was impressive since I guess I never really saw him going Country. The other three tracks are decent. Theirs “Yours Forever”, “The Crazy Life”, and the title track “Country Loud” This feels a little more Rock than Country, but somehow it just works, which I guess Country really isn’t Country anymore it’s forever changing to crossover, but that’s the music industry for you. Overall I like the instrumentals, the vocals and lyrics are solid, and this music is coming from personal experiences and life which as i’ve mentioned so many times is where I think all artists should go because that’s where artists and the music excel. If you break away from what’a expected to be. Make music, and your passion your own. Overall, for an EP of only four tracks I’d give it a 8/10. Can’t wait to see what you guys will come out with next, and glad that you guys are getting air play. I’ll always support my home state of the mitten always! Keep that music coming!
